Event description Find out what your responsibilities are regarding children looked after (CLA) and previoulsy CLA. Be clear on the statutory requirements so your school and board are compliant.

The session will cover the following:


  • Be clear on the statutory requirements so your school can stay compliant

  • Find out what your responsibilities as a governing board are regarding Children Looked After (CLA)

  • Understand Pupil Premium Plus funding and how this differs to Standard Pupil Premium.

  • Un-accompanied Asylum Seeking Children (UASC)

  • Why this group of children should not be termed, looked after children /LAC!

  • Questions every Governor should be asking their Headteacher about these cohorts.

  • Other children that come under Virtual School as part of the extended duties:

  • Previously Looked After Children – who are they and conditions of PPP funding.

  • Children With a Social Worker - who are they and conditions of PPP funding.

  • Questions every Governor should be asking their Headteacher about these cohorts.


This session wil be run by Andrew Martin, Headteacher of Ealing's Virtual School and Children Looked After
